AL Cy Young: A No-Brainer
The BBWAA unanimously selected Johan Santana as the 2004 American League Cy Young award winner, as they should have. Santana's selection was a no-brainer. He led the A.L. in ERA, strikeouts, and a whole bunch of other important categories, and was basically unhittable in the second half of the season. I'm surprised that Curt Schilling didn't receive at least one first-place vote from the Boston portion of the BBWAA, but I'm glad he didn't; Santana was easily the AL's best pitcher in 2004.
